NORFOLK, Va. (AP) -- Demeco Heath had 16 and Thurman Zimmerman scored 12 of his 15 points in the second half to give South Carolina State the win over Norfolk State 70-59 Saturday night.
Heath had a double-double, pulling down 10 rebounds for the Bulldogs (14-9, 7-5 Mid-Eastern Atlantic Conference).
Chakowby Hicks scored 15 for Norfolk State (10-11, 8-5), and Tony Murphy added 13.
South Carolina State opened the second half with a 10-2 run to put the score at 35-23 with 16:01 remaining. South Carolina State's biggest lead was 15 points at 59-44 with 2:40 left to play.
South Carolina State's bench outscored Norfolk State's 28-6, led by Shawn Wiggins, who contributed 11.
