NEW YORK (AP) -- Durrell Vinson's free throw with 2.9 seconds left gave Wagner a 62-61 victory over St. Francis, N.Y., on Saturday night.
Matt Vitale tied it at 61 with his fifth 3-pointer of the second half for the Seahawks (8-15, 7-7 Northeast Conference), who have won six straight. Vinson then made the second of two foul shots to win it.
Tristan Smith's 3-pointer put St. Francis (9-12, 5-7) ahead 60-57 with 1:50 to play. Jamal Webb made a foul shot with 1:35 remaining to pull Wagner within two, then Ruandy Mello's free throw gave the Terriers a 61-58 lead with 41 seconds to go.
Vitale had 16 points for Wagner, which led 27-24 at halftime. Tory Cavalieri scored 16 for the Terriers.
