COLUMBIA, Mo. (AP) -- Jason Conley had 14 points, nine rebounds and four steals, helping Missouri outlast Baylor 60-53 in a matchup of struggling teams on Wednesday night.
Kevin Young just missed his first career double-double with 11 points and nine rebounds for Missouri (12-13, 4-7 Big 12), which has won only three of its last 11 games. Jason Horton led the team in scoring with 15 points.
The Tigers were able to follow up an overtime victory over then 16th-ranked Oklahoma on Saturday despite off-games from Linas Kleiza and Thomas Gardner combined with continued free throw woes and general inefficiency. Kleiza was held to nine points, six below his average, and Gardner had only one point on 0-for-8 shooting after totaling 41 the previous two games.
Together, the pair had scored 82 of Missouri's 142 points the last two games.
Aaron Bruce had 26 points and two steals for Baylor (9-13, 1-10), which has lost eight in a row. It's the Bears' longest losing streak since they lost 17 in a row to end the 1998-99 season.
Missouri was 13-for-23 at the free throw line after going 5-for-12 against Oklahoma, and the misses helped Baylor keep it close. Two free throws by Bruce with 50 seconds to go cut the gap to four, and Missouri was 5-for-8 the rest of the way plus Kleiza forced a turnover.
Young had seven points in a 16-2 run that gave Missouri early control at 17-7. But the Tigers went cold at the end of the half, scoring only two points in the last 5:18 for a 30-23 halftime lead.
Baylor is 0-6 on the road in conference play. The Bears are second in the Big 12 in 3-point shooting but went only 4-for-17.
