ST. LOUIS (AP) -- Izik Ohanon scored 20 points and Ian Vouyoukas added a career-high 18, including 12 in the second half, as Saint Louis beat Indiana-Purdue-Fort Wayne 78-66 on Wednesday night.
Luke Meyer chipped in 14 for the Billikens (7-17), who won for the second time in their last seven games and just the fourth time at home (4-9). The loss was the 20th for the Mastodons (5-20), marking the fifth straight year that IPFW has hit the 20-loss mark. IPFW was 3-25 in 2003-04.
David Simon led the Mastodons with 15 points.
Saint Louis led by just one point at halftime. But Vouyoukas started the second half on fire, as he scored the Billikens' first six points of the half to give Saint Louis a 40-37 lead.
After Peter Campbell hit a 3-pointer for the Mastadons to make it 48-43 with 13:32 left, the Billikens went on an 11-0 run, highlighted by a Danny Brown slam dunk off a fast break, to take a 16-point advantage at 59-43. IPFW never got closer than eight after that.
Saint Louis appeared to take control when Ohanon scored from inside to make it 27-18 with 7:44 left in the first half. But the Mastodons went on a 9-1 run to end the half. Byron Malone keyed the run with two long 3-pointers, the latter of which tied the game at 33-33 with 54 seconds left in the half.
