AUBURN, Ala. (AP) -- Corey Smith scored 19 points and Vanderbilt opened the second half on a 24-2 run, beating Auburn 67-43 Wednesday night.
The Tigers (12-12, 3-8 Southeastern Conference) scored the game's first 11 points and led 26-21 at halftime before the Commodores (15-10, 5-6) took control.
Nathan Watson and Quinnel Brown combined for 18 of Auburn's 26 first half points.
Then, Vanderbilt dominated the first 9:25 of the second half and also held the Tigers without a field goal over a seven-minute span ending at the 5:34 mark.
Smith made 6-of-7 free throws and was the Commodores' only double-figure scorer.
He gave the Commodores the lead in the second half with a steal to set up his basket and foul shot, then he and Jason Holwerda had back-to-back 3-pointers.
Vanderbilt shot just 6-of-27 in the first half, but made 16 of 24 after that.
The Tigers, meanwhile, went 3-of-26 in the second half and didn't score until Brown's layup seven minutes into it.
Watson led Auburn with 16 points while Brown added 11. Freshman Toney Douglas, Auburn's leading scorer, was just 1-of-13 shooting for five points.
