ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) -- Jamar Wilson scored 17 points and Brent Wilson added a career-high 16 off the bench to lead Albany a 76-62 America East Conference win over Maryland-Baltimore County on Saturday.
Albany (13-12, 9-7) led 13-11 then went on a 14-2 run midway through the first half. Brent Wilson scored five in that stretch, including a 3-pointer from the top of the arc. The Great Danes led 33-21 at the break. UMBC (9-16, AE 4-12) shot 8-of-25 from the floor in the half and committed 10 turnovers.
The Retrievers, who beat Albany 67-62 on Jan. 19, closed within 35-29 on Andrew Feeley's free throw with 16:48 remaining. But Albany went on anther run over the next three minutes. Christopher Wyatt tipped in a missed three-pointer with a slam dunk. Lucious Jordan scored from an offensive rebound, and Brent Wilson sunk another 3-pointer.
Mike Housman had 15 points and 10 rebounds off the bench to keep UMBC close. Rob Gogerty, who had 11 points, made three consecutive free throws to close within 68-60.
But Albany went up again at the free throw line, making 23 of 33 overall. The teams combined for 47 personal fouls and four technicals.
Wyatt had 12 points and eight rebounds, and Levi Levine scored 10 for the Great Danes. UMBC's Brian Hodges had 11 points, and Cory McJimson had 10.
