MACOMB, Ill. (AP) -- Troy Okeson had 15 points as Western Illinois beat Southern Utah 70-50 on Saturday.
Okeson also had four rebounds and two steals for the Leathernecks (8-16, 4-9 Mid-Con), while NaVonta Kentle had a double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds.
Western Illinois led the Thunderbirds (12-14, 5-10) 30-22 at halftime, thanks to 50 percent shooting from the field. Southern Utah only shot 29 percent during the first half. They finished 20-of-59 overall from the field.
Jason Baker led the Thunderbirds with only nine points, all coming on three-point shots. No other Southern Utah player scored more than seven points.
