NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP) Luke Ruscoe came off the bench to score 15 points and pull down eight rebounds as Brown beat Yale 70-64 Tuesday night.
Ruscoe also had six assists, while Jason Forte added 13 points and another six assists as Brown (10-13, 3-6 Ivy League) snapped a four-game losing streak.
Eric Flato hit a 3-pointer with 24 seconds remaining, pulling Yale to within 65-64. Forte hit one of two free throws, but the Bulldogs blew their chance to tie the game by turning the ball over. Ruscoe sealed the win with two free throws.
Yale (9-13, 5-4) was led by Dominick Martin, who had 20 points and seven rebounds. Edwin Draughan added 15 points for the Bulldogs.
Brown led 36-27 at the half, but Yale opened the second half with a 7-2 run. But the Bears pulled back ahead by 12, 51-39, on a 3-pointer by Mark MacDonald with 11:30 left.
Yale rallied to take a 56-55 lead with 4:31 left on a jumper by Draughan. Draughn made a free throw to boost the lead to 57-55, but Brown scored the next six points including a 3-pointer by Forte with 1:40 left.
It was Yale's fifth-consecutive loss to Brown.
