CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) Ian Johnson and Jason Morton scored 16 points apiece as Davidson beat The Citadel 75-68 and clinched its 15th straight Southern Conference win Tuesday night.
The Wildcats (19-7) took a 46-31 lead at halftime off 46.9 percent shooting, including 14 points in the first half from Johnson and nine from Morton and Kenny Grant. Grant finished with 13 points and Brendan Winters added 10.
The Citadel (12-14, 4-11) used a 19-4 run over six minutes to pull within three at 69-66 with 53 seconds left. But Davidson hit its final six free throws to ice the win.
Warren McLendon led all scorers with 24 points for the Bulldogs. Kevin Hammack scored 14 and Matt Davis added 10.
The Citadel shot 38.7 percent in the second half, compared with 29.6 percent shooting for the Wildcats.
