MOREHEAD, Ky. (AP) Michael Haney had 21 points and 13 rebounds to lead Eastern Kentucky to a 69-61 win over Morehead State on Tuesday night.
Haney was 8-of-12 from the field and 5-of-5 from the free-throw line for the Colonels (18-8, 10-5 Ohio Valley Conference). Ben Rushing scored 14 points, and Matt Witt added 13. Alonzo Hird had 11 rebounds.
Chad McKnight led Morehead State (11-15, 5-10) with 16 points. Ramon Kelly and Quinton Smith scored 10 apiece.
Eastern led 40-31 at halftime and began the second half by pushing the lead out to 11 points. Morehead State pulled to 63-61 with 26 seconds to play, but the Colonels shot 6-of-6 from the line in the closing seconds to seal the victory.
Eastern Kentucky outrebounded Morehead State 41-28.
