GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) Ray Bristow hit his first five shots from the field and scored 16 first-half points to help UNC Greensboro beat Elon 69-60 Tuesday night.
Josh Gross and Ricky Hickman each added 14 points for the Spartans (15-11, 8-7 Southern Conference), while Kyle Hines chipped in 12 points and eight rebounds.
Colin Wyatt had a game-high 25 points for Elon (6-22, 4-11) on 11 for 16 shooting and added seven rebounds. The rest of his team made just 12-of-41 field-goal attempts.
Elon trailed by as many as nine points in the first half, but closed the lead to 37-33 with a 9-4 run over the last six minutes of the half.
They trimmed off another point before UNCG went on a 12-3 run during the next four minutes.
UNCG remains a game behind Appalachian State for second place in its division. The top two teams in its division get first-round byes in the Southern Conference tournament.
