DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) Pete Eggers' 3-pointer from the right baseline was the go-ahead basket and Drake made three of four free throws down the stretch to beat Indiana State 63-60 Tuesday night.
Eric Gray's long 3 as time expired was wide as the Sycamores (10-17, 5-11 Missouri Valley) remained winless on the road, losing their 14th straight.
Eggers' 3-pointer broke a 57-57 tie and gave the Bulldogs (10-15, 5-11) a 60-57 lead.
Chaun Brooks and Alou Kieta each had 10 points for Drake.
David Moss finished with 20 points and 11 rebounds for Indiana State, and Gabriel Moore had 12 points.
The Bulldogs turned a 40-36 deficit into a 44-40 lead by going on a 8-0 run midway through the half. Lonnie Randolph sparked the run with a coast-to-coast layup and Leonard Houston finished the decisive run with his own layup with 8:48 left to play.
The Sycamores finished the first half with a 17-5 scoring flurry for a 33-24 halftime lead. Eric Gray and Moore each scored two baskets during the scoring spurt.
