CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) -- Bernard Jackson scored a career-high 20 points and Tony Mitchell added 15 to lead College of Charleston to an 80-48 victory over The Citadel on Saturday.
The Cougars (18-9, 10-6 Southern Conference) went on a 31-3 run to start the second half and led 67-32 with 9:12 left in the game. Stanley Jackson added 12 points for College of Charleston.
Matt Davis led The Citadel (12-15, 4-12) with 13 points and Warren McClendon added 11 and six rebounds.
The Cougars clinched the No. 2 seed in the league's South Division and will get a bye in the first round of next week's conference tournament in Chattanooga, Tenn. The Citadel faces Appalachian State in the first round Wednesday and the winner meets College of Charleston on Thursday.
The 32-point margin of victory was the largest for College of Charleston in 76 games against the Bulldogs.
