NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Wayne Arnold scored 16 points and hit a 3-pointer with 19 seconds left to lead Tennessee State to a 63-62 victory over Jacksonville State on Saturday night.
Walker Russell, who finished with 16 points, gave Jacksonville State (7-22, 2-14 Ohio Valley Conference) a 62-60 lead by hitting two free throws with 1:08 left.
After Arnold's jumper for the Tigers (14-16, 9-7), the Gamecocks had a chance to win, but B.J. Spencer and Anthony Wilson both missed shots and Arnold came up with a block on the final possession to end the game.
Tennessee State's bench outscored Jacksonville State's bench 54-5. Neither team led by more than five points in the second half and the lead changed 10 times in the game.
Eric King scored 21 points and Bruce Price added 10 for the Tigers. Spencer finished with 19 points for Jacksonville State.
