CHARLESTON, Ill. (AP) -- Keith Jenifer scored 19 points as Murray State beat Eastern Illinois 72-66 on Saturday.
Jenifer also had four assists and three rebounds for the Racers (17-10, 11-5 Ohio Valley). Teammate Pearson Griffith had 17 points, seven rebounds, and five steals, while Justin Orr scored 11.
Emanuel Dildy's basket with 1:51 remaining cut the Racers' lead to 69-66. But Jenifer responded with two free throws that put the Racers out of reach.
Murray State led the Panthers (12-15, 7-9) 35-30 at halftime.
Josh Gomes had 22 points, four rebounds and three assists for the Panthers, while teammate Bobby Catchings had 11 points and three rebounds. Dildy finished with nine points.
Eastern Illinois had 17 turnovers which Murray State converted for 21 points.
