TULSA, Okla. (AP) -- Ken Tutt scored 27 points to lead Oral Roberts to a 79-65 victory over Valparaiso on Saturday night.
Oral Roberts (22-6, 12-3 Mid-Continent) overcame a sluggish start and a 40-35 halftime deficit with a dominating performance on the boards, outrebounding the Crusaders 26-11 in the second half for a 41-26 advantage in the game.
Valparaiso (15-14, 10-5) jumped out to a 28-18 lead in the first 11 minutes. Dan Oppland scored nine of Valparaiso's first 25 points on the way to a team-high 22 points.
Tutt scored 15 points in the first half to keep the ORU within striking distance, hitting a layup with 17:05 left in the second half to give ORU its first lead of the game at 43-42.
After losing the advantage briefly, the Golden Eagles took the lead for good with 10:35 left when Tutt banked a 3-pointer to make the score 54-52.
Caleb Green scored nine of his 16 points for Oral Roberts in the second half despite playing much of the half with four fouls.
