YPSILANTI, Mich. (AP) -- Ben Reed scored 15 of his 16 points in the second half and Rickey Willis added 15 to rally Western Michigan to a 73-63 come-from-behind win over Eastern Michigan on Saturday night.
Brian Snider and Stane's Bufford chipped in 13 and 11 points, respectively, for the Broncos (17-10, 10-6 Mid-American).
Markus Austin, James Jackson and Michael Ross each added 13 for the Eagles (12-15, 5-11), who have lost three straight and four of their last six.
Trailing 33-26 at halftime, Eastern Michigan opened the second half with a 12-5 run to tie it 38-38. Jackson put the Eagles ahead by two on a layup with 14:44 remaining.
There were six lead changes and four ties before Snider banked a 3-point basket to push the Broncos up 63-61 with 4:40 left. The Eagles failed to score on their next five possessions and Reed hit back-to-back 3-pointers and a 14-footer to give Western Michigan a 71-61 lead with 1:46 remaining.
The Eagles, who hit 62.5 percent from the field in the second half, were held to only one basket in the final 5:28.
Western Michigan's Joe Reitz split a pair of free throws to snap a 19-19 tie and start the Broncos on a 14-7 run to close the first half.
The win moved Western Michigan a half-game ahead of Bowling Green in the MAC West standings with two games remaining. The teams play Wednesday in Kalamazoo.
