LAKE CHARLES, La. (AP) -- Edward Garriet scored 23 points to lead McNeese State to a 76-68 win over Southeastern Louisiana Wednesday night.
Ricky Woods led Southeastern (20-8, 12-3 Southland) with 26 points and 12 rebounds while Jonathan Patton added 22 points on 8-of-15 shooting including a career-high tying six 3-pointers.
John Ford and J.T. Williams each added 11 points for the Cowboys (13-13, 8-7) while Aldryan Wardell had a team-high eight rebounds.
Garriet's triple halted a late charge which saw Southeastern cut a 10-point deficit to four, 64-60, behind a pair of Patton 3-pointers including a bank shot from the left wing with 2:18 to play.
But McNeese hit 10-of-10 free throws down the stretch to seal the victory.
