DEKALB, Ill. (AP) -- Sammy Villegas scored a game-high 23 points Wednesday to lead Toledo to a 81-75 overtime victory over Northern Illinois.
Substitutes made the difference in the game. The Rockets (15-12, 10-7 Mid-American Conference) scored 42 points off the bench, compared with 16 points for the Huskies.
The Rockets also made 10 3-pointers, compared with five for Northern Illinois (11-16, 7-11).
Florentino Valencia added 19 points for Toledo, who led 35-31 at halftime. Keonta Howell scored 16 points, Justin Ingram scored 11 points and Keith Triplett added 10.
Todd Peterson led the Huskies with 19 points and six rebounds. Mike McKinney scored 15 points, James Hughes added 14, Cory Sims had 11 and Anthony Maestranzi had 10.
