GRAMBLING, La. (AP) -- Brion Rush scored 20 points and pulled in 11 rebounds as Grambling State beat Alabama State 60-48 on Saturday.
With the win, Grambling secured the No. 2 seed in the Southwestern Athletic Conference tournament.
Grambling (14-11, 11-7) held the Hornets to only 39.2 percent shooting.
Rush also had four steals and handed out a pair of assists. Andre Ratliff added 17 points, including three 3-pointers.
Alabama State (13-14, 11-7) had no starters score in double figures as Joel Bush came off the bench to post 11 points on 5-of-6 attempts from the floor. Bush also had six rebounds and one assist.
At the halftime, the game was tied at 22.
