NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP) -- Senior Alex Gamboa had 20 points and five assists and Edwin Draughan added 19 points, five rebounds and four assists to lead Yale from a halftime deficit to beat Columbia 81-68 Saturday night.
Dominick Martin added 19 points and 12 rebounds, his second straight double-double.
Columbia (12-15) led 39-33 at halftime and increased the lead to 49-40 on Matt Prestons three-pointer with 15:30 remaining.
Yale (11-15) answered with a 9-0 run, capped by a Casey Hughes dunk with 11:24 left, which tied it at 49.
Yale finally took the lead for good, 63-61, on Gamboas three-pointer with 5:11 left that started a 14-4 Yale run.
Preston paced the Lions with 19 points. He was 8 of 13 from the field, including 3 of 6 from three-point range. John Baumann added 12 points and nine rebounds.
Yale shot 50 percent from the field.
