PRINCETON, N.J. (AP) -- Will Venable scored 19 points, leaving him one short of 1,000 for his career, to lead Princeton to a 65-54 victory over Dartmouth in an Ivy League matchup on Saturday night.
Venable, who was 7-for-9 from the floor, added four assists and five rebounds. Noah Savage added 11 points for Princeton (15-12, 6-7), which won for the fourth time in five games.
David Gardner had 12 points for Dartmouth (10-17, 7-7), which had its five-game winning streak snapped.
In a game that featured eight lead changes and seven ties, Princeton took the lead for good when Andre Logan's 3-pointer made it 46-43 with 8:22 remaining in the second half. That started Princeton on a 13-4 run, which capped by Luke Owings' 3-pointer.
The Tigers shot 51.5 percent overall, but won the game at the foul line, hitting 23 of 28 free throws. Dartmouth was 7-for-16 from the line.
If the Tigers can beat Penn on Tuesday, they will finish at .500 in the Ivy League. That would be the 52nd consecutive season that Princeton accomplished a .500 or better conference record, the longest streak in the nation.
