KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Freshman guard Chris Lofton scored 20 points and junior guard Stanley Asumnu came off the bench for a career-high 14 points to lead Tennessee to a 78-68 victory over Georgia on Saturday night.
Scooter McFadgon added 12 points and Brandon Crump had 11 points and 12 rebounds for the Vols (13-16, 6-10 Southeastern Conference).
Georgia (8-19, 2-14) was led by Levi Stukes and Sundiata Gaines with 22 points each.
It was the regular-season finale for both teams.
Georgia plays Mississippi State on Thursday in the first round of the SEC Tournament in Atlanta. Tennessee plays Arkansas Thursday in the first round.
Saturday was the Vols' Senior Night, and McFadgon and Crump were honored along with walk-on forward Fred Smithwick before their final games at Thompson-Boling Arena. Smithwick started the first game of his career.
McFadgon returned to the starting lineup after missing the four previous games with a bruised right leg.
Georgia took a five-point lead in the first 5:05 and was up by one with 9:45 left in the half. Tennessee went on an 11-1 run and led 29-20 with 5:05 left after two foul shots by Asumnu, who scored eight points during the run. The Vols led 36-29 at halftime.
Tennessee stretched the lead to 12 on McFadgon's 3-pointer early in the second half. The Bulldogs chipped away at the lead, and two free throws by Stukes cut the deficit to 50-47 with 8:10 left.
Georgia committed turnovers on its next three possessions as the Vols went on an 8-0 run. Lofton's 3-pointer gave the Vols a 58-47 lead with 6:03 to play. Tennessee led by seven or more the rest of the game.
The loss was Georgia's fourth straight, while Tennessee broke a two-game losing streak.
