WORCESTER, Mass. (AP) - Jim Goffredo scored 17 points and Harvard overcame a 9-point second-half deficit for a 70-55 win over Holy Cross on Tuesday night.
The Crimson (2-0) led 24-23 at halftime, but Holy Cross went on a 13-4 run early in the second half to take a 42-33 lead with 10:22 to play.
Goffredo hit two 3-pointers as Harvard rallied to take a 49-45 lead with 5:40 remaining. Michael Beal, Brian Cusworth and Drew Housman each had 12 for Harvard.
Kevin Hamilton scored a pair of free throws to bring Holy Cross within 51-49 with 3:51 left, but Harvard ended the game on a 19-6 run as Holy Cross (2-1) missed seven straight field goal attempts at one point.
The Crimson shot 56 percent from the field in the second half, limiting the Crusaders to 31 percent.
Keith Simmons led Holy Cross with 15 and Torrey Thomas added 11.
