BOSTON (AP) - Keith Simmons scored 15 points as Holy Cross snapped a three-game losing streak on Friday with a 59-44 win over a Northeastern team missing its top player and head coach.
Kevin Hamilton had 13 points while Alex Vander Baan had seven points and nine rebounds for Holy Cross (6-7).
The Huskies struggled without leading scorer Jose Juan Barea, who missed the game with a knee injury, and coach Ron Everhart, who was suspended one game after getting ejected in the Huskies loss to Wright State on Tuesday.
Janon Cole led Northeastern (6-4) with 11 points and eight rebounds.
Northeastern trailed 15-2 out of the gate, missed 15 of its first 17 shots, and had its worse offensive output since an 80-44 loss to Connecticut during the 2001-02 season. The Huskies shot 17 percent in the first half and trailed 28-11 at halftime on the way to their third straight loss.
Northeastern pulled within 40-31 on Chris Cyprian's 3-pointer with 11:31 left, but Lawrence Dixon scored five consecutive points for Holy Cross and Simmons hit a 3-pointer with 4:45 left as the Crusaders extended the lead to 53-34.
