LOGAN, Utah -- Nevada has its sights on an outright Western Athletic Conference title.
Marcelus Kemp scored 26 points and the 25th-ranked Wolf Pack beat Utah State 75-57 Saturday night to clinch at least a share of the WAC's regular-season title for the third straight year.
"We do not want to share it, so we have to win some more games," Nevada coach Mark Fox said. "We're trying to get in the NCAA Tournament. We're not in there yet."
But the Wolf Pack (22-5, 11-3) are definitely inching closer. With one more victory in the final two regular-season games -- at home against Fresno State and San Jose State -- Nevada locks up the No. 1 seed for the WAC Tournament in Reno, Nev.
Nick Fazekas had 23 points and 16 rebounds for Nevada, which held Utah State to 28 percent shooting in the first half of its ninth straight win. The Wolf Pack haven't lost since Utah State won in Reno 59-53 on Jan. 23.
Utah State (19-7, 9-5), which is in its first WAC season, could have tied Nevada for first place, but the Aggies never recovered after missing 15 of their first 18 shots.
"We didn't look like the team that we've had that's won 19 games. I didn't really recognize our team out there," Utah State coach Stew Morrill said.
It was Utah State's worst loss at home since a 60-41 defeat to Utah on Nov. 26, 1996.
Jaycee Carroll scored 13 of his 17 points in the second half for Utah State. Cass Matheus finished with 10 points.
Kyle Shiloh added 11 points for the Wolf Pack, who shot 68 percent (13-for-19) in the second half.
Kemp made nine of his 12 shots and finished 5-for-6 from 3-point range.
"That's just Marcelus. He can really score," Fox said. "I've seen him play like that a lot. So it wasn't like it was a surprise to us, but we certainly welcomed it."
Nevada won the WAC regular-season title outright last year and shared it with UTEP two years ago.
Nevada let a 15-point lead drop to five midway through the second half when Chris Huber got Utah State within 47-42 on a 3-pointer with about 11 minutes remaining.
Then Kemp and Fazekas took over during a 13-4 run that took away what little momentum Utah State had gained.
Kemp started the run with a 3-pointer and the 6-foot-11 Fazekas was about three feet behind the arc when he got a 3 to bounce in off the rim as Nevada scored eight in a row.
"The rim gave me a friendly bounce on that one. It really kind of stopped the run and took some momentum away from them," Fazekas said.
Fazekas also tipped in a rebound and had a dunk as the Wolf Pack built a 60-46 lead.
Nevada went 29-for-53 from the floor despite missing its first three shots of the game.
"They're big, they're strong and they were aggressive the whole game," Carroll said.
The Wolf Pack recovered from the slow start and made six in a row during a 14-2 run early in the first half. Kemp started it with back-to-back 3-pointers and had another long jumper during the spurt as the Wolf Pack took advantage of some woeful shooting by the Aggies.
Utah State opened the game 3-for-18, then slowly cut the lead to 28-20 before the Wolf Pack made another run at the end of the half. Ramon Sessions got a short jumper off just before the buzzer and Nevada led 37-24 at halftime.
