NORMAN, Okla. (AP) -Longar Longar and Austin Johnson scored 17 points apiece and combined to lead a late run as Oklahoma pulled away from Arkansas for an 83-72 win on Saturday.

Less than a minute after he stiffly limped off the floor after a hard fall, Longar hit two free throws to start a seven-point surge that extended Oklahoma's lead to 75-65 with 2 1/2 minutes to play. After a 3-pointer from Johnson, Longar capped the run with a two-handed dunk.

Longar added a right-handed jam that put Oklahoma up 79-68 with less than a minute left, and the Sooners spent the rest of the game at the free-throw line.

Johnson's point total was his highest this season, while Omar Leary and Tony Crocker each scored 12. It was the fifth straight win for Oklahoma (8-3) against its neighbor to the east.

Michael Washington scored a season-high 16 points and tied his career-high with 12 rebounds to lead Arkansas (8-2). Darian Townes added 13 points and Sonny Weems scored 11 for the Razorbacks, who lost their first road game under John Pelphrey despite pulling down a season-best 24 offensive rebounds and taking 14 more shots than the Sooners.

Arkansas (8-2) eliminated a seven-point deficit with a 9-2 run midway through the second half that Washington capped with a 3-pointer to make tie it at 58. The Razorbacks had missed their last nine shots from 3-point range before Washington's make off an offensive rebound.

The teams then traded baskets before Crocker's 3-pointer from the left wing with 7:34 remaining put the Sooners ahead to stay.

Freshman Blake Griffin, the Sooners' leading scorer, wasn't in the starting lineup for the first time in his career but Oklahoma still got out to a 12-4 lead. Arkansas rallied back to go ahead on Gary Ervin's tip-in that made it 25-24.

Oklahoma led 45-39 at halftime after Leary hit his fourth 3-pointer of the half and Crocker stole a pass and took it the other way for a two-handed jam.

Griffin finished with 11 points.
