BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) -Pawel Malesa scores a career-high 25 points, leading Canisius to an 88-62 win over Coastal Carolina in a non-conference game Saturday.
Malesa was 7-of-10 from 3-point range. Frank Turner had 17 points and 13 assists. Jovan Robinson had 14 points, and Willie Hassell added 12 points for the Golden Griffins.
Canisius (1-8) 15-of-27 on 3-point attempts.
Everage Richardson led Coastal Carolina (4-5) with 17 points. Mario Sisinni had 13 points, and Anthony Breeze had 12 points for the Chanticleers.
Coastal Carolina was 7-of-23 on 3-pointers. Canisius, which held a 43-33 lead at halftime, led by as many as 32 points in the second half, building an 82-50 advantage with 4:57 remaining when Julius Coles hit a pair of free throws. Malesa scored 17 points in the second half for Canisius, which posted its highest scoring output of the season.
