WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. (AP) -Jason Thompson led all scorers with 19 points and Harris Mansell added 13 as Rider defeated Monmouth 76-55 Saturday night.
Thompson also led all rebounders with nine, while his brother Ryan grabbed eight.
R.J. Rutledge had 13 points to lead the Hawks (2-8), who lost their fifth straight. Jhamar Youngblood added 11 points for Monmouth, and Nick DelTufo had 10.
Rider (7-4) led 15-11 midway through the first half when a 3-pointer by Mansell triggered an 11-0 run for the Broncs. Rider led 35-20 at the half and dominated the rest of the way, leading by as many as 30 points during the second half.
The Broncs shot 53 percent from the field, while holding Monmouth to just 34 percent.
