IRVINE, Calif. (AP) -Kevin Bland had 14 points and a career-high 12 rebounds to lead UC Irvine to a 72-59 victory over San Francisco on Saturday night.
Darren Fells scored 14 points and Patrick Sanders added 12 as the Anteaters (4-5) beat the Dons for the first time in seven meetings.
San Francisco (4-6) lost a 10-point lead in the first half and led 46-45 with 10:26 left in the game.
The Anteaters took the lead for good when Patrick Sanders scored on a layup with 9:54 left.
San Francisco got as close as three points, 51-48, before UC Irvine went on a 21-11 run to put the game away.
In the first half, the Dons built a 10-point lead with 9:01 left after a 12-7 run capped by a Manny Quezada jumper.
UC Irvine erased the deficit with a 16-0 run to take a 29-24 lead on a jumper by Sanders with 4:47 left in the half.
Quezada scored 20 points and Dior Lowhorn added 12 points and seven rebounds to lead San Francisco.
