INDIANAPOLIS (AP) -George Hill scored 21 points and Billy Pettiford had 16 as IUPUI beat Western Michigan 71-63 Saturday night.
Austin Montgomery had 14 points and went 4-of-4 from the free-throw line. The Jaguars (7-2) shot 24-of-27 from the free-throw line and 21-of-45 overall.
Derek Drews led four Western Michigan players in double figures with 14. Shawntes Gary had 13, Joe Reitz had 12 and David Kool 10 for the Broncos (4-6).
The Broncos and Jaguars were even in the paint (24-24), though Western Michigan outrebounded IUPUI 33-25. IUPUI had scored 12 points off turnovers compared with seven for the Broncos and outscored Western Michigan 15-11 off the bench.
The Jaguars trailed 28-23 at the break but outscored Western Michigan 48-35 in the second half.
