FAIRBORN, Ohio (AP) -Osiris Eldridge scored 15 points and Champ Oguchi had 14 points and 13 rebounds as Illinois State beat Wright State 69-61 Saturday night.
The Redbirds (1-0) never trailed and made 10 3-pointers to keep Wright State (0-1) from ever taking the lead.
The Raiders did get within three with less than a minute, scoring eight straight points that included a layup by Will Graham that made it 62-59. But Lloyd Phillips made a jumper and Oguchi hit several free throws to keep Illinois State in front.
Emmanuel Holloway scored 12 points and Phillips and Dinma Odiakosa each had 10 for the Redbirds.
Vaughn Duggins and Cooper Land both scored 12 points for Wright State, which shot just 31.3 percent in the second half after shooting 52.6 percent in the first.
