AMES, Iowa (AP) -Craig Brackins scored 21 points to lead Iowa State past Loyola-Marymount 67-55 on Saturday in the World Vision Classic.
Wes Eikmeier had 15 points and Diante Garrett added 11 assists for the Cyclones (2-0), who outscored Loyola-Marymount 27-7 during a key stretch in the second half to put the game out of reach.
Loyola-Marymount (0-2) pulled as close as 33-31 early in the second half. But Brackins answered with a 3-pointer and an alley-oop dunk to highlight a 12-4 run that pushed the Cyclones ahead 47-35.
Jarred DuBois hit a 3 to bring the Lions back within nine. But Iowa State scored the next 13 points, as Eikmeier hit a pair of 3s to help the Cyclones jump ahead 60-38.
Vernon Teel scored 16 points and grabbed 13 rebounds to lead Loyola-Marymount, which lost to Wisconsin-Milwaukee 75-51 on Friday night in Ames.
Iowa State wraps up its own round-robin tournament on Sunday against Wisconsin-Milwaukee. The Lions face UC-Davis.
