KENNESAW, Ga. (AP) -Mike DiNunno scored 19 points to help Northern Illinois beat Western Illinois 65-54 on Saturday night in the second round of the 100 Club Classic.
The Huskies (1-1) secured a third-place finish in the tournament.
Darion Anderson scored 15 of his 17 points in the first half and Sean Kowal added 12 points for Northern Illinois.
Western Illinois (0-2) was led by David DuBois, who had 26 points on 12-of-21 shooting.
The Huskies shot 52.2 percent from the field while holding the Leathernecks to a 36.1 shooting percentage.
Northern Illinois never trailed in the second half. Julian Jones Jr.'s layup pulled the Leathernecks within a point at 35-34, but the Huskies countered with a 13-6 run.
