BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) -Nick Stallings scored 31 points on 12-of-17 shooting as Centenary defeated Troy 81-77 Thursday night.
Stallings gave Centenary (1-2) its first lead since 12:12 left in the game when he made two free throws with 1:08 remaining to bring the score to 76-75. Gary Redus had a steal and two offensive rebounds in the game's final two minutes, all of which led to points.
Chas Adams and Redus each hit two free throws in the game's final 21 seconds, sealing the win for Centenary.
Redus scored 21 points, and Anthony Gatlin added 10 for the Gentleman.
Troy (0-3) led 41-40 at the half, and by as many as nine points in the game before Centenary's comeback.
The Trojans were led by 23 points from Richard Delk and 10 assists from Michael Vogler. Tom Jervis also scored 18 points for the Trojans.
