MONROE, La. (AP) -Diego Kapelan came off the bench to score 16, leading McNeese State to an 82-63 win over Louisiana-Monroe on Thursday night.
Kapelan was one of two Cowboys (1-1) players to score in double figures coming off the bench, as Elbryan Neal added 10 points and a team-high seven rebounds. Kleon Penn registered seven blocks, and Stephan Martin added 14 for McNeese State.
Jarvis Hill scored a game-high 18 points for the Warhawks (1-2), who shot 32.8 percent (20 of 61) from the field in the game.
McNeese State shot 50.9 percent (29 of 57).
The Cowboys ran out to a comfortable 42-24 lead at halftime, and out rebounded the Warhawks 45-30 in the contest en route to victory.
