PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) -Marshon Brooks scored 30 points off the bench for Providence and had five steals, as the Friars beat Sacred Heart 111-87 on Thursday night.
Sharaud Curry added 15 points for Providence (2-1), which reached triple digits for the second consecutive game. Geoff McDermott had 13 rebounds for the home team.
The Friars made just one of their first nine shots, but finished at 53.9 percent from the field, and went 13-for-30 (43.3 percent) from behind the arc.
Brooks scored 24 of his points in a sparkling first half. At 7:34 in the half, he stole an inbound pass and slammed it home, just seconds after sinking a three-pointer.
Chauncey Hardy and Joey Henley each had 18 points to lead the Pioneers (0-3), who have never beaten a Big East opponent.
