MILWAUKEE (AP) -Jarrod Jones scored 18 points and Brandon Lampley added 15 as Ball State defeated Wisconsin-Milwaukee 82-69 Tuesday night.
Ball State (3-1) got some revenge for an 81-74 overtime loss to Milwaukee last season. Anthony Newell added 14 points and Laron Frazier 12.
Milwaukee (3-3) lost its second straight game. Anthony Hill scored 17 points, Ricky Franklin 15 and Avery Smith 12 for the Panthers.
Ball State scored the last 10 points of the first half to break open a close game and lead 33-28. Trailing 28-23 after Tone Boyle hit a pair of free throws with 4:29 remaining, the Cardinals made five straight baskets including two by Lampley.
The Cardinals never lost the lead in the second half. The Panthers pulled within four at 61-57 with 6:14 remaining on a pair of free throws by Ricky Franklin but could get no closer.
