BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (AP) -Santwon Latunde scored 17 points off the bench and Cal State Bakersfield beat Sacramento State 72-62 Tuesday.
Bakersfield (2-2) traded leads with the Hornets for much of the game but pulled away in the final four minutes.
Trent Blakely scored 14 points and Terrence Johns added 12 for Bakersfield. Jonathan Malloy led Sacramento State (0-4) with 20 points and 11 rebounds.
Bakersfield led 32-28 at halftime but couldn't pull away until late in the second half.
Sacramento State tied the game for the eighth time at 58-58, but the Roadrunners finished on a 14-4 run, sparked by a 3 from Blakely and six free throws from Donavan Bragg, who finished with 10 points.
