NEWARK, Del. (AP) -Colin McIntosh scored a career-high 25 points to lead Vermont to a 78-63 victory over Delaware on Tuesday night.
The victory marked only the second time the Catamounts (2-2) have beaten Delaware in 15 all-time games in Newark.
Vermont never trailed after Ryan Shields' basket gave the Catamounts an 11-10 lead with 12:49 left in the first half. The Catamounts led by as many as eight points in the first half, and by 25 points in the second half.
The Blue Hens (2-3), who had a two-game winning streak snapped, closed within 44-43 on an Edwin Santiago basket with 12:11 remaining in the contest. But the Catamounts answered by scoring 23 of the next 27 points to open up a decisive 67-47 lead.
