LAS VEGAS (AP) -Dana Smith scored a team-high 18 points and Billy Robinson Jr. had 15 to lead Longwood over Delaware State 69-65 Saturday in the seventh-place game of the Las Vegas Invitational.
Smith, who went 8-of-12 from the field, had eight rebounds and four assists.
Robinson had seven rebounds for Longwood (4-4).
Junior forward Frisco Sandidge led Delware State (1-8) with a career-high 21 points. Sandridge went 7-of-11 from the field and was 7-of-7 from the foul line. He also had seven rebounds and four blocks.
Arturo Dubois had 13 points and 21 rebounds, while Donald Johnson had 15 points.
The Hornets trailed 37-29 at halftime but rallied in the second half. Johnson 3-pointer with 1:36 left gave them a 61-61 tie.
Smith answered with a layup on the next possession and then a jumper with 49 seconds left that put the Lancers up 65-62.
Johnson missed a potential game-tying 3-pointer with :22 left.
