FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) -Michael Washington turned a close game into a runaway, scoring 16 of his game-high 20 points in the second half as Arkansas raced to an 86-61 win Saturday over Florida A&M.
Washington went on a personal 7-0 scoring run to help Arkansas turn a one-point deficit into a double-digit victory.
Arkansas (4-1) led 36-29 at halftime despite shooting just 34 percent from the field on 10-of-29 shooting. Florida A&M wasn't much better, going just 4-of-17 from beyond the arc. For the game the Rattlers launched 35 3-point attempts.
Florida A&M led 43-42 on Lamar Twitty's 3-pointer before the Razorbacks, led by Washington, took control. An 18-7 Arkansas run gave the Razorbacks a 62-50 lead when Britt nailed a 3-pointer from the left wing with about eight minutes left.
Courtney Fortson scored 13 for Arkansas and Rotnei Clarke added 12. Brandon Bryant led Florida A&M (1-5) with 16 points.
