CHARLESTON, Ill. (AP) -David Carson made a game-winning shot with .07 seconds left on the clock to lead IPFW to a 76-74 victory over Eastern Illinois on Saturday.
Carson had 24 points for IPFW (3-2), which led by as many as nine points and trailed by as man as seven points. Ben Botts had 15 points, Nick Daniels had 13 points and Zach Plackemeier had 12 in an even effort for IPFW.
Romain Martin led Eastern Illinois (1-4) with 26 points and five rebounds. T.J. Marion had 15 points for the Panthers.
IPFW led 39-34 going into the break and was able to hold on for the win even as Eastern Illinois outscored them 40-37 in the second half. Eastern Illinois scored 18 points off IPFW turnovers.
IPFW lost its 3-point charm, scoring only one in the second half after sinking eight in the first half. The score was tied four times and the lead changed nine times.
