LAS VEGAS (AP) -Erik Kangas scored a game-high 18 points as Oakland, Mich., defeated Southeast Missouri State 81-63 in the fifth-place game of the Las Vegas Invitational on Saturday.
All of Kangas' points came on 3-pointers. He also had six rebounds.
Johnathon Jones had 13 points and eight assists, while Drew Maynard had 11 points for Oakland (3-4).
Calvin Williams and Jaycen Harning each led the Redhawks (2-4) with 18 points apiece. Kenard Moore added 15 points.
The Golden Grizzlies never trailed in the first half and led 36-23 at intermission. In the first half, the Redhawks were 6-of-21 from the field and 0-of-10 from 3-point range.
Oakland's lead never got below eight points in the second half. The Golden Grizzlies are in the midst of a nine-game road trip to start the season.
