ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) -Dominic Waters sparked Portland State with 22 points off the bench, and the Vikings rebounded from a loss in the semifinals to beat Seattle 81-67 on Saturday night and take third place in the Carrs/Safeway Great Alaska Shootout.

Waters made 7 of 13 shots, including three 3-pointers, as the Vikings (5-1) bolted to a 19-point halftime lead and were never threatened.

Phil Nelson added 16, Jamie Jones scored 15 and grabbed 12 rebounds and Kyle Coston had 13 for Portland State. The matchup with the Redhawks was simply a preview - the two teams will play each other next Saturday in Portland, Ore.

Chris Gweth scored 14 points to lead Seattle (4-3), which finished fifth. The Redhawks committed 14 turnovers in the first half and could never recover from the early mistakes.
