NORMAL, Ill. (AP) -Champ Oguchi had 17 points and eight rebounds to lead Illinois State to a 53-33 win over Winston-Salem in Saturday's World Vision Invitational.
Osiris Eldridge had 11 points and nine rebounds for Illinois State (5-0), which ended the game shooting 36.7 percent from the field. The Redbirds led by as many as 20 points in the second period in a game that saw the score tied once.
Jamar Slocum came off the bench to lead Winston-Salem (0-5) with nine points and a pair of rebounds. Starters Jamal Durham and Brian Fisher each had seven points.
The Rams' 33 points broke the record for the fewest number of points scored at Redbird Arena. IPFW had the record with 36 points since Dec. 6, 2005. The 86-point combined score also broke the arena record for fewest points in a game. That record previously was 87 points, set Feb. 22, 1992, during a 44-43 Illinois State win over Indiana State.
