PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) -Marshon Brooks scored 22 points off the bench and added five rebounds as Providence cruised past Brown, 86-62, on Wednesday night.
The Friars controlled the game from the start, pushing past the defense in the paint and outrebounding the Bears on the glass, 44 to 29.
Sharaud Curry had 14 points and tied a season high with eight assists for Providence (5-3), and Randall Hanke posted a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds.
Peter Sullivan had 16 points to lead Brown (3-4), which was coming off back-to-back wins.
Brooks, the sophomore guard who averaged just 9.3 minutes a game for the Friars a year ago, leads Providence in scoring this season. His 22 points were his most since posting a career-high 30 on Nov. 20 against Sacred Heart.
