CEDAR FALLS, Iowa (AP) -Craig Brackins set season highs with 32 points and 16 rebounds and Iowa State beat Northern Iowa 71-66 in overtime Wednesday night, snapping a 10-game road losing streak.
Diante Garrett added 17 points for the Cyclones (5-1), who blew a late lead in regulation before holding Northern Iowa (4-3) to just four points in OT.
Garrett drove through the lane for a layup and hit a free throw that put the Cyclones up 68-66 with 47.8 seconds left. Northern Iowa's Kerwin Dunham, whose 3 at the end of regulation sent the game into overtime, then lost the ball out of bounds - and Adam Koch missed a 3 with 14 seconds left that would tied the game.
A turnaround jumper from Brackins and two Garrett free throws gave Iowa State a 61-56 lead with 1:28 to go in the second half. But Dunham's open 3 from the corner tied the game at 62 with 6.1 seconds left in regulation.
Adam Koch and Kwadzo Ahelegbe each had 18 points to lead Northern Iowa, which shot 6-of-32 from 3-point range.
