ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) -Edwin Ubiles scored 23 points as Siena held off a late charge from Albany, N.Y. to take the intra-city rivalry game 71-64 on Saturday night.
Ronald Moore added 17 points for Siena, which won the Albany Cup for the seventh time since the matchup was re-established in 2001.
Albany's Will Harris made a basket to trim Siena's lead to 60-55 with 4:38 left. But the Great Danes never got any closer to the Saints (4-3, 1-0 MAAC), who shot 50 percent (26-of-52) from the field.
Ubiles knocked down a 3-pointer from the right side with two minutes to go, making it 65-56 Siena and all but ending Albany's comeback chances.
Tim Ambrose scored 15 points to lead the Great Danes (5-3, 0-0 America East) before fouling out with 1:20 remaining.
Siena led 39-29 at halftime on the strength of a 19-5 run that broke an early 9-all tie.
