TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) -C.J. Reed scored 16 points to lead Bethune-Cookman to a 63-46 victory over Florida A&M on Saturday night.
The Wildcats (4-4, 1-0 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference), who have won three straight, held the Rattlers scoreless over nine minute span in the first half.
Bethune-Cookman went on a 12-0 run in the Rattlers' scoreless span, until Florida A&M's Brandon Bryant ended the drought with a reverse lay-up with 4:35 left in the half. The Rattlers (1-7, 0-1 MEAC) made only five of their 22 first-half attempts and missed all nine first-half 3-point shots.
FAMU cut the Wildcats' lead to 13 in the second half, when Yannick Crowder's basket made the score 49-36. But the Rattlers would pull no closer. Bethune-Cookman went on a 9-0 run to pull away.
Crowder and Bryant both scored 11 to lead the Rattlers.
